DC Threads was created to bring back the art of political discourse.
The United States was formed as the result of spirited, passionate dialogue among citizens – those who philosophically agreed with one another, and those of opposing views. In fact, one could say that it was the propensity for conversation that helped shape this “most perfect union.”
Of late, though, the conversation has been stifled.
These days, friends and neighbors are hesitant to share their political views with one another, reluctant to enter into an exchange that might escalate into an argument or, sadly, the end of a relationship.
Even worse, if you happen to be the Conservative in the discussion: You might be branded as...uncool! (gulp)
Well, at DC Threads, we wondered: At what point did we turn this corner? When did it become taboo to espouse your preference for an efficient government, or express your optimistic faith in the power of individuals to achieve great things? And...when did Conservatives stop being cool?!
Our mission is to bring about the resurgence of open dialogue. Among friends. Among neighbors. In the local coffee shop.
And, yes, even in polite company.
Wearing a DC Threads t-shirt or owning a limited edition print should be a badge of honor – “I am a Conservative!” you’ll boldly proclaim! (No, really. Like, out in public and stuff.)
Soon, you’ll notice that all is Right with your world. You aren’t the only one. There are others out there – just like you.
You’ll find yourself emboldened to speak your mind and share your opinion, no matter where you are. You’ll realize that you’re simply following in the footsteps of great citizens who came before you. Heck, look at all the stuff our country’s Founders accomplished through a little lively debate!
